The Philadelphia Eagles and SportsRadio 94WIP are thrilled to announce that the 2017 Eagles Radiothon, presented by Santander Bank, raised $207,970 over a two-day auction that ran from Tuesday, Sept. 5 to Wednesday, Sept. 6. As part of the annual Radiothon, Eagles fans and 94WIP listeners were provided the opportunity to bid on exclusive experiences involving their favorite Eagles players and 94WIP radio personalities. All proceeds will benefit Eagles Charitable Foundation, the team’s 501(c)(3) public charity that provides the Greater Philadelphia region with greater access to vision care and autism research.

At a cost of $30 for a comprehensive vision exam and a pair of eyeglasses, more than 6,932 children in need will be able to receive vital eye care through the funds raised during the 2017 Eagles Radiothon.

“True impact is measured by the generosity of kindhearted individuals,” said Christina Weiss Lurie, President Eagles Charitable Foundation, Eagles Social Responsibility. “When everyone comes together for a good cause, we have the potential to make a difference in the lives of many. Through the Eagles Radiothon, even more children in the Greater Philadelphia region will now benefit from Eagles Charitable Foundation’s commitment to comprehensive vision care and autism research. The unbelievable support provided by 94WIP, Eagles fans, auction bidders and volunteers over these past two days was simply remarkable and we thank them for their efforts.”

“As the Official Bank of the Eagles and a longtime supporter of the Foundation, we have seen firsthand how the important work of this organization has had a meaningful impact on the community,” said David Swoyer, Santander’s regional executive for Commercial Banking. “We are pleased to help deliver these important services to children and families in Greater Philadelphia.”

Over the course of the two days, callers were able to place bids during the following 94WIP shows: Angelo Cataldi & The Morning Team, the Midday Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie, and the Afternoon Show with Chris Carlin and Ike Reese.

“Once again this year, the staff at SportsRadio 94WIP is overwhelmed by the generosity of our listeners and Eagles fans in the Delaware Valley,” said David Yadgaroff, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO Philadelphia. “We asked fans to donate to the Eagles Radiothon and they blew us away. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that with the help of our clients, listeners, partners in the community, and fans, the Eagles Charitable Foundation will continue to provide free, comprehensive vision care for underserved youth and will continue funding autism research.”
