En Route – a niche marketing agency located in Center City Philadelphia servicing tourism, cultural and civic projects – seeks a Communications Specialist to successfully execute media relations and social media strategies and ensure that all clients receive the highest level of service and results.  This new, full-time position works closely with the CEO and each member of the six-person team to advance agency and client goals.  Responsibilities will focus on social media management, written content creation, public relations, and project management.

The successful candidate for this position will have a passion for writing, personal interaction, and customer service, as well as an unwavering focus on quality and results.

 

 Responsibilities

Manage deliverables for assigned client accounts and serve as the primary client contact.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with print/digital/broadcast media (local, regional, national, and trade), producers, and influencers.

Enthusiastically pitch and secure timely and relevant editorial coverage.

Respond to media inquiries on behalf of clients. Serve as logistical point person for media interviews and meetings.

Track client media placements and develop client reports.

Produce quality copy and content for an array of delivery vehicles, including social media channels, printed collateral, e-newsletters, websites, press materials.

 

Develop social media content strategies and schedules. Write content and schedule for various client accounts.  Monitor engagement and metrics and continually adjust strategies and content to maximize desired results.

 

Write copy for e-newsletters and format for delivery in Constant Contact and other e-mail marketing applications.

 

Edit and proofread materials written by En Route staff, clients and others to ensure unity of voice, accurate information and style consistency.

 

Participate in and provide support for press, influencer, promotional and other events as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • At least two years of public relations and social media experience
  • A proven track record of public relations success with a portfolio of media placements
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects seamlessly and efficiently
  • Superior organization skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to work with various clients and partners
  • Marketing agency experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Philadelphia media, tourism, and civic communities a plus

 

This position will work at En Route’s office located at 1315 Walnut Street.  Travel within the Philadelphia Metro region will be required.  Candidate must have and maintain a valid driver’s license but need not own or have access to a vehicle.  En Route subscribes to a ridesharing company for regional transportation needs.

Standard work hours are 9 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, but candidates must be available and willing to work some evenings and weekends to assist with client and agency events.
