Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising/Communications.
Preferred 2-3 years media buying experience in an in-house advertising or agency setting. Working knowledge of SmartPlus or other media buying software and marketing research tools preferred.
Strong negotiating skills negotiate and secure media and promotional elements with media vendors in multiple markets and mediums. Must be resourceful, demonstrate strong attention to detail, follow-through skills and the ability to work independently
The primary function of the Associate Media Buyer/Planner is to purchase and negotiate media across various categories; radio, television, print, out of home, digital etc. The Associate Media Buyer/Planner will work directly with the Account Executives and Media Director to execute media plans. The Associate Media Buyer/Planner is responsible for acquiring desirable time slots and media space. The Media Buyer/Planner will need to form good relationships with advertising vendors to obtain the best prices and values for advertisement placements and/or campaigns. The Associate Media Buyer/Planner will also monitor the purchased media to make sure the advertisements appear as planned and deliver the expected performance and/or value.
Negotiate and secure media schedules/placements across a variety of media types:
Handle make good processes, prepare media Broadcast schedules (Radio, TV, Cable) and post analysis, reconcile account billing, develop annual media plans, steward media buys (including trafficking) and coordinate creative/copy, work with Account Executive’s to ensure plans are executed in a timely manner maintain contacts and relationships with vendors. Assist in advertising research pertaining to market.
