PMN: Inquirer Karl Stark and Charlotte Sutton on opioid abuse

As a courtesy, we post events from other organizations. Contact the below organization directly for registration or for more info.

On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, PMN is hosting Inquirer business editor Karl Stark and Inquirer health editor Charlotte Sutton moderating a breakfast forum at the Union League with an expert panel to discuss one of our region’s most tragic public health crises, the epidemic of opioid abuse.

“The Opioid Forum: An Rx for the Workplace” will examine how this epidemic impacts the workplace.  The Forum will provide much needed-insight into the financial burden this epidemic has created for Philadelphia’s businesses, and it will provide you with best practices for your HR departments.  Most importantly, it will offer you valuable information about how to support employees who are struggling with their own addiction or that of loved ones.

The expert panel is still growing, but confirmed participants include:

Tad Decker, Vice Chairman, Cozen O’Connor
Caroline Johnson, Director, Center for Disease Control, City of Philadelphia
Dr. Joseph Ranieri, Medical Director, Seabrook House
Gary Tuggle, Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Drug Enforcement Admin., Philadelphia Division
