The annual series of events serves as an open house for Delaware’s  burgeoning innovation community through conferences, games and demonstrations.

Researchers have estimated that 47 percent of U.S. jobs could be automated within the next two decades. Others take a more optimistic approach, aiming to coalesce a community of entrepreneurs and technologists who might harness this rapid change.


That’s why you see cities all over the globe are preparing for the workforces of the future with this new reality in mind. You see the same groundwork being laid here in Delaware, a region with a celebrated legacy of innovation that was built by a history and foundation of mechanical, textile and manufacturing industries. Delaware has joined other surging startup and tech communities across the country  by making technology and innovation accessible and a top priority.   


The rally charging the city’s technology and startup communities each year is Delaware Innovation Week, an annual open calendar of events that serves as a showcase for the city’s brightest to discuss, demonstrate, play and inspire.


Delaware Innovation Week 2017, which is the third annual, will run from Friday, November 3 through Saturday, November 11, 2017.  


The event series is slated to bring a spirited energy to the city with more than 3,000 attendees, 30 curated events and 25 partners. Delaware Innovation Week is a community effort, led by local tech news network works to grow local technology communities by connecting organizations and people through news and events. Additionally, by providing expert programming and tools which improve recruitment, marketing, community cultivation and economic development, has been a driving force in building the narrative of Delaware’s bustling technology scene.


“Delaware Innovation Week’ is an annual chance for you to discover what’s happening year-round here in entrepreneurship and technology,” said Christopher Wink, the Publisher of, which produces Delaware Innovation Week. “Our goal is to bring together the broadest cross-section of local leaders and bring new faces to the conversation.”


The independently produced #DIW17 events are categorized into seven tracks including Access, Business, Civic, Creative, Media, Dev (short for web and product development) and new this year, Sciences.
