Start your Thanksgiving Day with Philadelphia’s #1 family tradition – The 6abc Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade, now in its 98th year. The fun kicks off Thursday, November 23rd at 8:30am with a half hour preview show followed by three hours of parade action! The 210 minute broadcast, shown in 9 markets across the country, is hosted by Action News’ Rick Williams, Cecily Tynan, Adam Joseph, Karen Rogers and Alicia Vitarelli. They will be joined by Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer – her first appearance in this iconic event.

The 6abc Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade is known for having ‘something for everyone’ – featuring 17 marching bands from across nation, 18 balloons, 17 floats, 29 performances, as well as fan favorites from music, stage and screen. “The 6abc Dunkin Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade is 98 years old this year and is the longest running Thanksgiving Day Parade in America. We couldn’t keep it going without the wonderful support of Dunkin Donuts and our major corporate sponsors,” says 6abc President and General Manager, Bernie Prazenica. “This is Philadelphia’s parade and we all take great pride in continuing the tradition.”

Disney, the parent company of 6abc, will once again bring the magic to our great city. Walt Disney Characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be joining the fun along with Mary Poppins and her talented companion Bert. Also from Walt Disney World – Peter Pan and his friend Wendy, plus Snow White and her prince.

Moana from Disney On Ice: Dare to Dream will dazzle the audience, and look who else is swinging by – Spider Man and Iron Man from Marvel Universe LIVE!

The red hot Philadelphia Eagles will be well represented on Thanksgiving morning, with appearances by SWOOP, the cheerleaders, the Pep Band, and the Drumline. Additional appearances include The Philadelphia Soulmates, Miss America’s Outstanding Teen – Jessica Baeder, Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen – Augustina Mallous, Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen – Madison Dompkosky, Miss New Jersey – Kaitlyn Schoeffel, Miss Delaware – Chelsea Bruce, Miss Delaware’s Outstanding Teen – Nicole Hannah, and Miss Pennsylvania – Katie Schreckengast.
And in traditional Philadelphia fashion, our two “guests of honor” will help us mark the unofficial start of the Christmas holiday season! That’s right… Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will sleigh ride up the parkway!

Special guests include American Idol stars Melinda Doolittle, Ruben Studdard, and Justin Guarini. Joining the American Idol alums is Grammy-nominated and Dove award-winning recording artist, Ty Herndon. Hip-hop & R&B star KWAME makes his parade debut. His special performance is presented by 100.3 WRNB. And Philadelphia’s own “Geator with the Heater,” Jerry Blavat, returns for another trot down the parkway.
